Emergency Medicine position, Western Maine Dover-Foxcroft

Mayo Regional Hospital in the western Maine town of Dover-Foxcroft is seeking a full time physician for the emergency department. The opportunity is available for physicians Board Certified/Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Boarded in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with experience working in Emergency Departments. The volume is 14,000 visits annually with a peak during the summer months. The ER is staffed by a total 4-6 FTE’s with some per diem coverage. There is double coverage during the busy time of day. Full time position consists of 3 shifts per week with a blend over the month of 7-7 (12 hr) and 6pm to 7am (13 hr). The scheduled is structured to allow recuperative time between days and nights. The position comes with competitive hourly rate, and build in PTO and benefits. It can also be structured without PTO if perferred. 

 The Hospital has a helipad for transporting major trauma to Eastern Maine Medical Center the regional tertiary care center, 45 minutes away by ground. The hospital has Internists, Family Practice, General and Orthopedic Surgeons on staff, and additional specialists in Ophthalmology, and Otolaryngology available for consultation. Within the past year the hospital became linked to EMMC’s trauma surgeons through a 24/7 ITV trauma system.

 Mayo Regional Hospital is a non-profit, 25-bed critical access hospital located in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. The Hospital has 22 physicians and 320 staff members dedicated to providing acute medical/surgical care, intensive care, surgical services and obstetrics in an inpatient setting, as well as a wide array of outpatient services to an area slightly above 22,000.
