Emergency Medicine opportunity in Houlton, Maine!

Houlton Regional Hospital is recruiting a full time physician to join the team of four physicians and a several part time physicians who staff the ED 24-hours per day. The shifts can be either 24hr. or 12-hours in length depending on preference. You may work as an independent contractor or as an employee with full benefits. Round the clock lab services are offered. The Department is responsible for the immediate assessment and treatment of any medical or surgical emergency. The ED manages an RN-based transport service for patients requiring care beyond the scope or resources of the facility.

Houlton Regional Hospital is located in the southern part of scenic Aroostook County, close to Maine’s border with New Brunswick, Canada. The hospital is licensed for 35 acute beds and 28 skilled nursing / nursing home beds and has a service area of over 18,000. Services are typical of those of an acute care hospital and include a 24 hour physician covered emergency room, comprehensive medical/surgical services and a multitude of out-patient services, including pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation, physical, occupational and speech therapy to name a few.

Full time physician services include internal medicine, gynecology, obstetrics, family practice, urology, ENT, general surgery, ophthalmology surgery, pediatrics, orthopedic surgery, and radiology. Part-time physician services include neurology, endocrinology, pediatric endocrinology, physiatry, podiatry, and a pacer clinic.
