New Emergency Room Position in Portland, Maine!

Mercy Hospital, a 230-bed facility in Portland, Maine’s largest city, is opening a new Emergency Department in the new Fore River Campus. This is a full time, 1625 hours per year position. This is a terrific opportunity to work in a new state of the art campus and be part of a team building a new service. The schedule will be developed as staff are added. The plan is to start with 5 physicians. A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered which includes health and dental insurance, life insurance, pension with match, CME, relocation etc.

Mercy Hospital’s State Street Campus team consists of  6 full time and 3¾ time physicians. Physicians work 16-8 hour shifts per month, with double physician coverage during peak times,  Physician Assistants staff their “express care” service  12-hours per day. Annual emergency room visits total 30,000. They have an excellent reputation within the community. Mercy Hospital consistently receive high ratings in customer satisfaction surveys, most recently ranked number one in “Catholic Health East.” It is important to their mission that they maintain good rapport with patients, referring physicians and consultants.
