Emergency Room Physician wanted for Farmington, Maine

Work and live in western Maine within miles of Sugarloaf Ski resort and nearby several of Maine’s most beautiful lakes. Franklin Memorial Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medicine trained physician to join the Emergency Dept. team of 4 physicians and 3 physician assistants working an average of 36 hrs. per week, totaling 1700 hrs a year in a rotating schedule between days (7a-6p) swing (10a-8p) and nights (6p-7a). The schedule has built in periods of time off to allow for recuperation. The Emergency Dept. averages 18,000 visits annually with a daily census of 50 patients. The ER is a level 3-trauma center with 10 rooms, 6 basic, one trauma, one mental health room. All patients are seen by a physician or physician assistant with specialty consults available. Trauma patients with life threatening conditions are stabilized and then transferred to the nearest trauma center. Recent renovations have improved safety and patient flow.
