Maine Coast Memorial Hospital is fully accredited, 64-bed community hospital with a service area over 21,000. Four brand new, state-of-the-art operating rooms opened recently as a part of a $10.2 million, three story/25,000 square foot expansion project. This hospital is the sole-community provider of health care for Waldo County. It serves Belfast, with a population of 7,000, and numerous rural communities within a 20-mile or so radius, bringing the hospital’s total service population to about 37,000 Mainers. Many surgical and other sub specialists have joined the medical staff in recent years, and the hospital recently completed a substantial expansion project.

The selected physician will join two physicians and two advanced practitioners. Call responsibilities include covering one weeknight per week, and just 1:8 weekends. This modern office is one of the larger health centers in a network of 11 locations serving rural parts of central and western Maine. The Lovejoy Center has been a part of this community since 1978.
