One of the hospitalists works five days per week, supervises the advanced practitioners works closely with ED to assess admissions. The advanced practitioners round on low acuity patients the physicians handle the rest. This is a 24/7 service with an average daily census of 30. <p><em>The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC)</em> is a sophisticated 89-bed community hospital, with a 24-hour physician staffed emergency room, 72-bed continuing care unit and ten health centers located across the central and northern sections of Aroostook County in northern Maine. The region is home to over 65 physicians serving an area population of nearly 75,000 people. TAMC is the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">largest hospital north of Bangor</span>and offers the only Sleep Lab, Cardiovascular Lab, Radiation Oncology, and Dialysis Center. This position could be Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics. This is a unique opportunity for an individual who enjoys developing programs, leading change and improving quality in a team setting. You will work with a team of Advanced Practitioners who will serve as house officers, admitting and rounding on patients in the hospital. You will provide leadership and supervision to the team. The Emergency Dept is staffed by physicians 24/7 who handle nighttime admissions. Sebasticook Valley Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a small inpatient census. Trauma patients and critically ill patients are transferred to the tertiary care center. The Director will work a weekday schedule with the occasionally after hours consult. Qualifications will include experience and comfort caring for patients in-hospital. Ability to perform inpatient procedures.  A very competitive compensation and benefits package is offered to qualified individuals.</p>

<p>Maine Coast Memorial Hospital is fully accredited, 64-bed community hospital with a service area over 21,000. Four brand new, state-of-the-art operating rooms opened recently as a part of a $10.2 million, three story/25,000 square foot expansion project. The schedule is 7 days on 7 days off working 10 hr shifts. Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 with physicians who do after hour admissions. The average daily census is 18 which also includes swing bed patients, and daily admissions average around 3. Some basic in-hospital procedures are required such as, stress testing, and infrequently, lumbar punctures, central lines. A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered. The hospital is qualified to sponsor a J-1 or H1-B waiver.    </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hospitalist opportunity is available in the  beautiful mid-coast city of Brunswick, Maine. Mid Coast Hospital is seeking a either full time or part time Hospitalist to join the team of 6-1/2  physicians supported by experienced NP&#8217;s. Full time is 1900 hrs annually. The schedule is 5 days on/5 days off x 2, then 5 nights on 5 nights off, for 15 shifts per month. Day shifts go from 7:00 am to 7:00 p.m., nights from 7:00 pm to 7:00 a.m. There is flexibility within the schedule.  Physicians may work additional compensated shifts. Two physicians and an NP round daily for an average of 33 encounters, one physician rounds at night averaging 4-5 encounters. The Hospitalists are supported by a 24/7 CC/Pulmonary Care practice who handle most of the ICU work. Procedures are not required for this position.  A competitive salary and full benefits package including CME  is offered for this position.</p>

Located on 150 acres of beautifully wooded land in Brunswick, Maine, Mid Coast Hospital <span style="text-decoration: underline;">matches the newest medical technology and skilled medical professionals with Maine’s natural beauty</span> to meet the psychological as well as physiological healing needs of their patients.</p>
<p>This 92-bed hospital has an active medical staff of 131 physicians serving a population of 90,000 area residents. Mid Coast Hospital offers inpatient services such as a 24-hour Emergency Department, ICU, Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics, Behavioral Health unit, and a separate Woman’s Health unit concentrating on childbirth at its Baby Place and Gynecological Services center. Outpatient services include Day Surgery, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging (including the most advanced CT, PET scans and MRI), Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy, and a Hearing Center. This rapidly expanding community hospital recently added another 18 med/surg beds and two more operating rooms.</p>
