<p><strong>Mid Coast Hospital</strong> built in 2001 is the newest full-service, stand-alone community hospital in New England! This is an employed practice seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon with skills in joint replacement. The hospital recently became certified in joint replacement so are eager to expand this service to the area population. There are two other Orthopedic Surgeons to share call with. Although there is ED call coverage, trauma patients are transfered to the tertiary care center. This will be a busy practice after a ramp up period. <strong>Goodall Hospital</strong> is a wonderful 58-bed community hospital located in Sanford, Maine. The hospital has an active medical staff of 65, with a more-than-20 primary care physician referral resource. This hospital offers a comprehensive inpatient program and has access to all necessary medical specialties with referral relationships to metropolitan areas. Goodall Hospital is a Level II trauma center with a 24 hour Emergency Department that sees about 23,000 ER visits a year. <em>The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC)</em> is a sophisticated 89-bed community hospital, with a 24-hour physician staffed emergency room, 72-bed continuing care unit and ten health centers located across the central and northern sections of Aroostook County in northern Maine. This is a exciting opportunity for a surgeon who enjoys and is proficient in a variety of cases. You will treat most orthopedic problems with the exception of severe trauma and spine cases. This employed position will partner you with an experienced surgeon. Your call is very comfortable for a two surgery practice. Call every other weekend, and 2 nights during the week that you are on weekend call. On alternate weeks you are completely free of call. You will partner with a 25-year veteran joint specialist who is building  a four member team within the next 2 years. A good fit would be a surgeon who enjoys general orthopedics, arthoscopic procedures and is fellowship trained. With new OR suites and dedicated patient care unit, patients receive top notch care and rehabilitative services. The <em>Women’s Health Pavilion</em> offers a full array of health services including Family Birthing Unit, state-of-the-art private birthing rooms with whirlpool baths.
