General Orthopedic Surgeon is wanted for expanding practice at The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) in the northern Maine, town of Presque Isle. You will join three other Orthopedic surgeons in an busy practice. Call is 1 in 4. This is an employed opportunity with Horizons Health Care a hospital affiliated multi-specialty practice. There is a highly competitive compensation package with comprehensive benefits. Several years ago the hospital expanded surgical capacity with the addition of new OR suites to meet the increasing demand. A new medical office building provides office space for the Orthopedic practice on the hospital campus.
The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) is at the center of a sophisticated 212-bed capacity healthcare community with a large acute care unit, a 24-hour emergency room, and facilities in three communities and ten health centers located across the central and northern sections of Aroostook County in northern Maine. The region is home to over 65 physicians serving an area population of nearly 75,000 people. TAMC is the largest hospital north of Bangor and offers the only Sleep Lab, Cardiovascular Lab, Radiation Oncology, and Dialysis Center. Additionally, the Medical Staff includes the only full time Pulmonologist, Endocrinologist, Cardiologist,Hematology/Oncologist, and 24/7 Hospitalist Service.
TAMC offers the most comprehensive range of cardiac services in Northern Maine. As a member of Eastern Maine Healthcare, they work closely with the Eastern Maine Medical Center, and can connect patients to additional resources if needed. The pediatric team here is also outstanding, providing acute and preventative care to children and adolescents from birth to age 18. Their range of services includes routine well-child visits, immunizations, behavioral problems, school physicals, and sick visits.
