A friendly, skilled pediatrician is invited to join three other physicians, plus a full nursing and support staff, in a busy office-based practice in a wonderful college town in West-Central Maine. The selected doctor will help support an OB program for deliveries (an average of just one per day) in a new maternal child health facility. Your admitting hospital is located right across the parking lot from your offices. You will work in a very well-managed Level 2 nursery. Infants requiring ventilation are stabilized here and referred to a Level 3 nursery an hour away. Skills and experience in acute care, including neonatal resuscitation, are mandatory for this position. On-site specialty clinics provide services for pediatric cardiology and endocrinology. This is the sole pediatric practice in the area. You will see and treat patients from newborns through teenagers, averaging 25 patients per day in the office - more in the wintertime - in addition to supervising a typically small number of inpatients (2-3 or so at any given time). The call is a comfortable with potential for addition of fifth pediatrician. This position offers a very competitive guaranteed income (base salary) plus productivity incentives.
