Greenville: FP with ER skills invited to beautiful Moosehead Lake Region! NHSC welcome.
Requirements:

We are looking for a Family Practice doctor to join the busy operation of a Critical Access Hospital in Greenville, Maine. This hospital offers a broad scope of services and is an essential resource in this beautiful resort community. OB is not a requirement; however candidates desiring to practice OB are welcome.

The hiring hospital is a member of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, in Bangor. As such, Eastern Maine Medical Center is an essential referral and specialty resource for the hospital in Greenville.

Please note that the team of Family Practice doctors in this organization represents the ENTIRE medical staff for this rural hospital. You must be prepared to handle a very wide range of cases. The selected physician will be responsible for shared on call coverage of the Emergency Room, primary care office, and coverage in the attached nursing home. The hospital also supports two outpatient-only clinics operated in nearby towns. The call for this position is shared among medical staff members.

Greenville is a dramatic location at the foot of picturesque Moosehead Lake (Maine’s largest lake, measuring 20 x 40 miles!). Locals know it as “Maine's INLAND coast!†Moosehead is a charming region that is famous for its scenic beauty and recreational distractions. Along with all the fascinating natural aspects, this community has a terrific school system and a variety of residential options.

The pristine waters draw those wishing to explore nature by kayak or canoe, fly-fish, or feel the adrenaline rush of the rapids on the world-class whitewater rafting rivers. Beautiful mountains offer hiking experiences for all abilities (including a stretch of the Appalachian Trail), as well as bird watching, scenic vistas, mountain biking, skiing, and snow boarding.

You’ll want to make sure and visit The Moosehead Marine Museum where you can learn about the history of Moosehead. Step aboard The Steamship Katahdin for a leisurely cruise to enjoy the natural beauty and history of Moosehead Lake. The cruise will explain different points of interest along the way as well as provide you with snacks from the ships working galley. Make sure you make room in your autumn schedule to enjoy the annual Sea Plane Festival, when dozens of pilots land flying craft of all sizes, shapes and ages on Moosehead Lake!

Since you’re just 90 minutes southwest of Baxter State Park, you’ll have to make a trip to the majestic Mt. Katahdin, Maine’s highest mountain, rising nearly a full mile into the sky. Baxter State Park is a 200,000 acre paradise for anyone who loves nature. If you crave city activities, cultural offerings, or just shopping and a wider range of theatres and restaurants, Bangor is only 90 minutes in another direction. Bangor is also home to an international airport with connections that can take you anywhere. Greenville is approximately 55 miles from the Quebec border and a 3 hour drive to historic Quebec City, offering eloquent cuisine, and exquisite shopping opportunities.

The Greenville School System has a reputation for providing high quality education; offering a rich mix of traditional and innovative education. The student/teacher ratio of approximately 11 to 1 ensures that students receive the individual attention they deserve.
