Family Practice opening details

A busy, hospital-owned, community oriented Family Practice located in Rumford, Maine, is seeking an additional physician. The selected doctor will be responsible for offering a broad scope of family practice services to patients of both genders and all ages (excluding OB services). The majority of your cases will be handled on an outpatient basis, but you will share responsibility for caring for inpatients as well. The call is 1:4.

You will enjoy working in a bright, modern office shared with several other FPs and PAs, plus an OB/GYN and a certified nurse midwife. This facility is directly adjacent to your admitting hospital. The hospital is affiliated with the Central Maine Medical Center, one of Maine’s premier healthcare facilities, and site of a family practice residency program. As a result, the opportunity for precepting residents may be available to interested parties. A "Rural Track" expansion of this FP residency was implemented at this Rumford practice in June 2004.

This is an employed position that comes with a competitive compensation package including a salary with incentive/bonus plan, and full benefits including health insurance, paid relocation expenses, and possibly medical education debt assistance.

Rumford is a historic mill town in the midst of western Maine’s beautiful Longfellow mountain range. You’ll find many fun-filled ways to spend your leisure time in this area. You'll be very near to some of Maine's most spectacular downhill ski resorts. You may also enjoy other winter activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.
