An exciting new opportunity is available for a new or experienced urologist to practice in gorgeous "Down East" Maine! Enjoy the convenience of a 1:3 call schedule and an extremely modern practice environment. The urology practice has moved into a freshly refurbished suite in a terrific medical office center adjacent to a hospital with new operating rooms!

You will be proud of your association with this fully accredited and financially stable 64-bed community hospital, situated in the charming 200-year-old town of Ellsworth, Maine. Four brand new, state-of-the-art operating rooms opened recently as part of a $10.2 million, three story/25,000 square foot expansion project. This expansion, the largest in the hospital's 50+ year history, addressed inpatient and outpatient support areas that substantially increase patient privacy, while giving providers access to the latest tools and conveniences. An all-new ICU, plus a wonderful new Cafeteria (with a new chef!) were also part of the expansion. The Emergency Department was renovated last year, expanded to more than double its previous size - all in an effort to meet increased demand.

The selected candidate will join a busy and productive urologist who is developing a subspecialty in urodynamics. The incoming doctor will have a general practice, but also the opportunity and support to develop the subspecialty of his or her choosing. Enjoy having your own new private office! Take advantage of the convenience of a new and extremely well-equipped procedure room. Share support from a dedicated staff (presently 3 administrative and 2 clinical staff members, likely to expand as the new doctor starts).

Your schedule will be a convenient 4 days/week (32 hours/week in the office, hospital or clinic). Your 5th day is a fully compensated "on call" day. A very competitive compensation package will be offered to the selected physician, structured any way you wish. Would you like the security of being directly employed by the hospital? You can either earn a guaranteed salary, or opt to take a somewhat smaller salary PLUS an attractive incentive/bonus plan. Would you prefer to be in private practice? The hospital will fully support you as you get started with an income guarantee and full budget to cover all the practice expenses. Numerous additional benefits will also be provided including generous time off for vacations and for CME, plus a liberal CME allowance, paid relocation, help with medical education debt, and much more.

Ellsworth is in a picturesque location on Maine's coast midway between Bangor and Bar Harbor, each about a thirty minute drive from town. This delightful community is recognized as the Gateway to Maine's historic "Down East" region, and the 35,000 acre Acadia National Park.

Acadia is the second most visited national park in the country, an incredibly popular place for camping, hiking and biking, bird watching, whale watching and nature photography, canoeing and kayaking, plus cross country skiing and snow shoeing, and much, much more.
